Securing Employment upon your Sarasota Move

If you're moving to Sarasota and you're not retired, there's a good chance you'll need to find employment. Our local economy has been very strong in recent years with an unemployment rate around 3%. The sectors which drive the Sarasota economy are tourism and hospitality, medical and healthcare and real estate as our city is booming with new home construction just about everywhere you look. Getting a Job as a non-Florida Resident

People often ask about the best way to secure a job in Sarasota while still living outside the state. Do Sarasota employers give preference to local candidates? Should I move there first? Should I secure the job before moving to Sarasota? These are all questions I am commonly asked. My best response is to let employers know that you're in the process of moving to the area and that you'll be in town to interview in person on certain days, and fully available for phone and/or skype inteviews while still living out of state.
